Chef Tim Love is known as much for his freewheeling personality as his signature urban western cuisine. As chef/owner of beloved Texas restaurants, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Woodshed Smokehouse, Love Shack and Queenie's Steakhouse, as well as the White Elephant Saloon, his inspired and innovative dishes have earned critical and popular acclaim.

Love opened his flagship restaurant, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, in the historicFort Worth Stockyards district in 2000, earning four stars from The Dallas Morning News, who noted the restaurant’s “intelligently conceived food executed with topnotch technique….Lonesome Dove is confidently turning out a worldly cuisine that could come from nowhere else.” Love expanded his presence in the Stockyards in 2002 when he bought legendary bar, the White Elephant Saloon, and then again in 2007, with the opening of a classic burger joint called Love Shack.

2012 saw Love’s revolutionary exploration of the potential of wood as a flavoring agent beyond its conventional use as a fuel source with the opening of Woodshed Smokehouse. His homage to all things grilled, roasted, braised and slow-cooked, featuring a rotating selection of beef, pork, wild game and vegetables, Woodshed Smokehouse showcases a variety of woods as a dynamic means to flavoring food, from creating braising liquids from soaking woodchips to smoking ice for signature cocktails. Woodshed Smokehouse was named one of Bon Appétit’s “50 Best New Restaurants” in 2012. In 2013, Love returned to his hometown of Denton, Texas, to open Queenie’s Steakhouse, a contemporary take on the classic American steakhouse.

Love is a passionate advocate of his home state and has become a de facto ambassador for Texas. He is also a national spokesperson for Hellmann’s Mayonnaise and created the Chef Tim Love Collection with Sur La Table, an extensive range of outdoor cooking tools and products. As a committed philanthropist, Love is devoted to charities including Spoons Across America and Burgers 4 Babies, an annual tasting event featuring the country’s top chefs that Love founded in 2010 in support of Fort Worth's NICU Helping Hands Foundation. A loyal sports fan, Love partnered with national foodservice leader Sodexo to become the sole food service provider at TCU’s 45,000-seat stadium in Fort Worth.

The Woodshed Smokehouse is chef Tim Love's homage to all things grilled, roasted, and slow-cooked, featuring an ever rotating selection of beef, chicken, pork, wild game, fish, and vegetables, all cooked over a variety of woods and fire sources.

Located on the bank of Fort Worth's Trinity River, the 14,000 square foot, open-air venue has something for everyone, a selection of tacos, including a daily meat roasted on a spit, traditional 'cue,  a number of large-format, family friendly dishes and meals, including a 16-hour Smoked Beef Shin, Open-fire Paella with Mussels, Clams, Rabbit-Rattlesnake Sausage, and Chicken as well as as a variety of vegetable dishes, such as a Whole Smoked Cauliflower Head and Local Acorn Squash.

Chef Tim Love hosts his Burgers 4 Babies fundraiser charity event to raise money for Fort Worth’s NICU Helping Hands Foundation, whose goal is to develop hospital and community-based projects that provide education and support to families of premature infants.

“This event is extremely near and dear to me,” says Love. “My daughters were born prematurely, and thanks to the amazing staff in the NICU, these beautiful girls are here today. An event like this combines a great cause with outstanding food from some of the country’s most amazing chefs. I’m honored and touched that they’re all going to be here to help raise money for such an important issue.”
